MoCo Loco – Modern contemporary design & architecture
MoCo Loco is a web magazine featuring modern contemporary design news and views.
There is a wave of new creativity in design these days, sparked in part by new materials. If you want to see what can be accomplished, MoCo Loco is a great place to start browsing. Unfortunately I thing than most of the designs are too if expensive if you have to ask for the price tag.
After the Wikipedia controversy that surfaced over the last couple of weeks, I’ve decided to join the “merry band of vandals” that make up the community of Wikipedians – e.g. I’ve become an active contributor to Wikipedia.

Just by chance I stumbled upon Kim Schumacher while surfing the web, and much to my surprise, I found that there was no Wikipedia entry about him.
The White Stripes – The Denial Twist – Video
Too bad that this new video by The White Stripes isn’t included in my Michel Gondry DVD collection. It’s stunning as one have come to expect when Gondry adds his Midas touch, and when he works with The White Stripes it’s always groundbreaking.
I really have to check out the features and shorts by Michel Gondry.

This is one impressive site filled with Origami art. In case you don’t know what Origami is, it is the art of folding paper into decorative shapes, usually from uncut squares.

The quality of Wikipedia has recently been questioned, because of a false biography entry on the journalist John Seigenthaler.
The story first surfaced in USAToday: “A false Wikipedia ‘biography'”.
The person that produced the false Wikipedia entry was discovered, as reported in the BBC article.
But this is a real and serious problem.
I love the concept of Wikipedia, but the world is a dificult environment for idealists.
Wireless Philadelphia Non Profit Organization
As mentioned in a previous post, The City of Philidelphia is launching affordable wireless access.
A non-profit organisation, Wireless Philadelphia, has been set up to manage this.

Philidelphia is launching affordable, municipal wide, Wi-Fi coverage. One of the key drivers behind this project was to shrink the digital divide, and this is a very noble cause. The city considers Internet access to be like street lighting and sanitation.
Needless to say, heavy lobbying on part of the telecommunications industri has succeded in stopping similar projects in other states, and also elsewhere in Pensylvania.
This article from the Telegraphy, features an interview with Jonathan Ive, top designer from Apple. The attention to detail, like the design of screen hinge on the iMac G5, is really made clear from reading this interview.

I just stumbled upon the official website of the Hubble Space Telescope, spacetelescope.org. spacetelescope.org is a great site, the place to go for all those amazing images, that keeps coming, after Hubble has been in service for 15 years.
