The Perfect Gentleman

Creepy

OK, I need your advise.

An attractive, rather thrashed, woman walks up to me asking for directions to a bar, I find it using my tech-wizardry, she MUST have known where it was, she claimed that she had lived in that street, I wished her a pleasant night, and we went our seperate ways.

I now see that there were several other doors I could have choosen:

1. Showed her the way
2. Asked if I could join her
3. Suggested that we went somewhere else

Did I choose the right door, in post-cog I think that I should have tried door number 3, I was high on culture from last nights Kulturnat event, and there are several places that are better suited for spirtual encounters than Wessels Kro.

ps. I think that I should have, at least, tried door number 1, it would have let to the possibility of choosing the other two. Hey I might finally be getting the rules if this game, it is a very strange game, and I thought the only way to win is by not playing https://www.kimbach.org/2009/06/28/game-theory/

pps. Suggesting that you go “somewhere else”, is much like saying you want to “park the car” – I should have picked door #1.

Kindle and Sony PRS-505I’ve been waiting for the Kindle to be launched in Denmark, I’ve wanted one since I laid my hands on one at Reboot 11 in June. So now I know what I’m getting for my birthday.

Yes, the Kindle has it’s problems, and I fear that it will end in my hardware graveyard, alongside my Palm Vx (which I loved, and read books on) and my Compaq PDA (which I loved, and read books on), but the Kindle is a different creature, much like the iPod, it’s focusing on a specific application and has connected that with a clear business model, I see it as a connected object, a beautiful combination of form and function, something Microsoft has never understood, and that Apple has abandoned, except with the iPod Shuffle.

KISS!

For those oblivious to what a Kindle is, it’s an eBook reader developed by Amazon. Amazon’s vision is to make all books ever published available in digital form, and Jeff Bezos can repeat after Steve Jobs: “we have xx millions of accounts, AND they come with creditcards”. I believe that it will take talent for Amazon to fumble this.

Attending atoms&bits Camp in Berlin this weekend. Looking forward to, once again, operate with a blown mind

Anb Logo 512I’m really exited about going to Berlin for the first time, my visit will not be your typical tourist trip, because I’ve signed up for the atoms&bits Camp than will take place this Saturday and Sunday the 26th and 27th of September-2009.

So what is atoms&bits about? The website http://www.atomsandbits.net/english sums it up:

Atoms and bits – the smallest elements in our modern society.
From these tiny elements our daily lives are composed, we can use these to build new ways to improve our lives.
This realization is the first step towards change and also the basis of a new movement, that does not yet exist.

atoms&bits is a festival that culminates with a two day Camp is following the rules of BarCamp, and I’ve signed up for both days.

I’m already familiar with the rules of BarCamp, having participated in the three we’ve had in Copenhagen, as a co-organiser of the two previous BarCamps in Copenhagen, as well as the recent SocialmediaCamp Copenhagen.

I just love the format of BarCamp, but must admit that we’ve been in a crisis, so one of the main reasons I’m going to Berlin is to get inspiration to grow BarCamp in Copenhagen and Denmark.

I must admit that I’ve been too passive, and just followed in the footsteps of my partner in crime, the wonderful Henriette Weber of Tootheless Tiger, who’s a bundle of energy. She knows me, and she’s given me good challenges for the Camps we’ve co-organised, she’s doing the hardest part of the organising, like finding a venue, but I’m getting ready to do more.

Looking forward to meeting some wonderful people, having lots of fun helping giving birth to this new movement and to, once again, operate with a blown mind!

Please accept my sincere apologies for violating your privacy and sending out tons of facebook invites

Dear Friends,

Please accept my sincere apologies for being so reckless as to giving my e-mail credentials to facebook, resulting in you getting reminders to join facebook.

What happened was that I had this crazy idea July 3rd 2009, that I should invite everyone I knew to join facebook, I should have known better, since I’ve done something similar in the past (“Angels” and “Demons” are lurking in your web-mail – kim.bach invites you to join Zorpia).

What I didn’t realise was that facebook sends out reminders to the people that you’ve invited, and that they do that approximately every fortnight, not good.

Facebook is behaving very aggressive, because you don’t get notifications that they’ve sent out reminders.

I’m begining to understand how facebook is building their empire. First facebook uses e-mail to spread, removing trust in e-mail, meaning that people look to things like facebook’s integrated mail system because it’s private.

I hope that I’ve put an end to this, by removing all pending invites and deleting all my e-mail invitations from the Invite History.

You can manage your invitations by selecting the menu item “Friends/Invite” and then selecting “View all invitations”. A list of all the invitations that you’ve sent out should appear, and you can manage the invitations from there.

So please accept my sincere apologies, and I promise that it will not happen again. I have the faint hope that you, at some point – in the distant future – might considering trusting me again.

Kind regards and sorry

Kim Bach

RIOT! Sandinista! Revolt! Intifada!

RIOT!

Rioting-the unbeatable high
Adrenalin shoots your nerves to the sky
Everyone knows this town is gonna blow
And it’s all gonna blow right now:.

Now you can smash all the windows that you want
All you really need are some friends and a rock
Throwing a brick never felt so damn good
Smash more glass
Scream with a laugh
And wallow with the crowds
Watch them kicking peoples’ ass

But you get to the place
Where the real slavedrivers live
It’s walled off by the riot squad
Aiming guns right at your head
So you turn right around
And play right into their hands
And set your own neighbourhood
Burning to the ground instead

[Chorus]
Riot-the unbeatable high
Riot-shoots your nerves to the sky
Riot-playing into their hands
Tomorrow you’re homeless
Tonight it’s a blast

Get your kicks in quick
They’re callin’ the national guard
Now could be your only chance
To torch a police car

Climb the roof, kick the siren in
And jump and yelp for joy
Quickly-dive back in the crowd
Slip away, now don’t get caught

Let’s loot the spiffy hi-fi store
Grab as much as you can hold
Pray your full arms don’t fall off
Here comes the owner with a gun

[Chorus]

The barricades spring up from nowhere
Cops in helmets line the lines
Shotguns prod into your bellies
The trigger fingers want an excuse
Now

The raging mob has lost its nerve
There’s more of us but who goes first
No one dares to cross the line
The cops know that they’ve won

It’s all over but not quite
The pigs have just begun to fight
They club your heads, kick your teeth
Police can riot all that they please

[Chorus]

Tomorrow you’re homeless
Tonight it’s a blast

The fun thing is that this little game started on Facebook, right now I’m using a combination of Facebook and Twitter to co-create the revolution of the mellemrumssingularitet .

ps. it’s unfortunate that I have to use twitter and facebook, because Jaiku can do it all…
